We arrived just at the 12pm start time, and thought the bikers were the kick off to the parade, as they usually are, when they drove by 5th ave and 18th street 12:15pm. But it turns out we had just missed our mayor Zohran Mamdami who actually kicked off the parade 15 minutes early. Ah well, here’s a screenshot of someone else’s video:

The Queer Big Apple Corps Marching Band NYC played a very apropos mash-up of ABBA’s Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) and Madonna’s Hung Up. And if you know anything about pop music and/or Queer pop culture, you know why that’s apropos.
