The Transparent Film Festival has selected my short film musical Edgar Allan Poe adaptation “The Pit and the Pendulum – a musicabre” to play during its two day festival May 12 & 13. P&P will show on Thursday, May 12, at the 6pm screening along with other short films at Under St Marks Theater at 94 Saint Marks Place in the East Village, NYC. I’ll be there, eager to share my musical nightmare with you and answer any questions after the screening.

Update 5/5/22 – “The Pit and the Pendulum – a musicabre” was nominated for Best Actor and Best Music Performance Video. The awards ceremony will be Friday, May 13, 8pm.

Get your tickets here. It’s a cozy little theater, i.e. seats are limited.

Update: There are no more tickets available on FilmFreeway.com. A limited number of tickets (originally to be made available at the door) are available on the Theater’s website at https://www.frigid.nyc/event/6897:132/

Transparent Film Festival director Brian McLane made the announcements on the festival’s dedicated cable access tv program:

The Transparent Film Festival calls itself this because each filmmaker receives the initial adjudicating judge’s scoring soon after submitting their film. That normally doesn’t happen. Most festivals don’t notify you about your film’s status until much later, and then just to tell you whether you’re in or out, but not much more (well, if you’re in there’s more of course, logistically, but generally not about the judges’ scoring). In this case the initial scoring provides a bit of a head’s up how things may be going.

This is the score card I had received for “The Pit and the Pendulum – a musicabre”:
