Pierre Cardin at the Brooklyn Museum

The Pierre Cardin: Future Fashion exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum is coming to a close today.  I went last Thursday, and found my shutterbug instincts whipped up until my cellphone needed recharging.

Still hail at 97 years age, he is proud of his youthful physique, as evidenced in the exhibit making the point that he was the tailor model for the prince’s costume Cardin designed for the legendarily hunky actor Jean Marais in “La Belle et la Bête”.PC10d La-belle-et-la-bête-1946-3

The climax of the exhibit is an “outer space” room, featuring a light show and futuristic pop music curated from many decades.  Including the theme from the Avengers TV show, perhaps my favorite TV show theme:

This picture of Diana Rigg as Emma Peel on The Avengers makes the connection to Pierre Cardin rather obvious, wouldn’t you agree?
