Yesterday I met my Director of Photography Jason Chua at the film equipment rental place to do some camera tests in preparation for our upcoming “The Tell-Tale Heart – a musicabre” film shoot.
For me that mostly meant standing in front of the camera while Jason took various shots with various lenses and various filters.
So you can’t blame me for pulling out my phone and taking some shots of my own.
By now it may be appropriate to show you Jason’s friendly smile rather than keeping him obscured behind the camera…
Jason pushed the camera very close into my face bruto, which is a bit discomforting. But I guess I will need to get used to this …
Hello Camera my new friend…
Jason tested out various lenses. In particular he wants to see how they effect the image in black and white. There will be a lot of close-ups in black and white in this film…

I swear I didn’t ask the guy to hold his hand like that to capture the reflection. He just did so fortuitously and I quickly snapped the picture.
It’s a RED camera. And there is a red light in the middle of the lens…
Like a companion to the pale blue eye that disturbs the protagonist in “The Tell-Tale Heart”…
I kept looking. And seeing my face reflected in the lens filter…
And looking for patterns in the red in the lens. Is that my face in there too?
