PRIDE NYC ’24

Ed and I made our wasy from Brooklyn to the Village to watch much of the Pride festivities and parade before joining the Quakers* at their late afternoon slot in the march down Fifth Avenue.

What follows are a couple handfuls of photo and video impressions.

Michelle Visage from RuPaul’s Drag Race

US Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer

The guy at left was juggling…

Eventually Ed and I left our perch at 5th avenue and 8th street and joined the Quaker contingent forming at 28th street, scheduled to join the parade after 4pm. However the city cut the end of the parade short due to rain.

Undaunted, many of the Quakers marched downtown on Broadway and Fifth Avenue anyway.

Quakers have marched in every parade since Stonewall, and that wasn’t going to change this year.

*I’m not a Quaker myself, but what Quakers call a Friend of Friend, AKA a supportive hubby.
